Impact Project Management: Design and Approvals Management

We manage the design process with a clear focus on commerciality, coordination, buildability and compliance. This includes working closely with architects, engineers, certifiers, fire consultants, planners, and access consultants, among others, to ensure the design develops in a structured and coordinated manner.

Our role is to keep the design team aligned with the client’s objectives, budget, programme and approval pathway. We assist with setting clear deliverables, managing consultant inputs, tracking design progress, resolving coordination issues and ensuring key decisions are made at the right time. We also help identify design risks early, particularly those that may affect construction cost, statutory approvals, certification, staging or long-term asset performance.

We understand approvals are not just administrative; they require active management. Whether it involves DA, CDC, a Construction Certificate, Complying Development, or other planning and coordination, we ensure a clear, coordinated pathway.

Our construction-led approach reviews design documentation with a delivery mindset, focusing on whether the design can be priced, built, certified, and handed over efficiently, rather than merely on completeness. This reduces ambiguity, protects the client, and strengthens procurement and construction.
